Job Title Part-time Commercial Cleaning Instructor (Correctional Facility) Job Description The Commercial Cleaning Instructor is a part-time, temporary position located at Anson Correctional Institution in Polkton, NC.
Under the direction of the Director of Correctional Education Programs, the Commercial Cleaning Instructor is responsible for teaching industry-specific course content at Anson Correctional Institution.
Essential Duties Summary · Facilitate learning through classroom activities, distance learning experiences, workforce development, and out-of-classroom activities· Develop, update, and implement curriculum and educational materials and methods used to advance learning in the classroom· Organize and maintain class area, including physical facilities, equipment, inventory, and materials in clean, neat operating condition· Maintain accurate attendance records, student registration information, and course paperwork· Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position· Provide program participants and peers with a positive role model in terms of character and citizenship· Comply with college policies, internal audit procedures, and local and state rules and regulations· Adhere to correctional institution policies and procedures· Participate in faculty / department meetings, college-wide professional development training, committees, and campus activities· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Correctional Education Programs, Dean of the School of College & Career Readiness, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs Required Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent· A minimum of three years of experience working in the commercial cleaning industry· Effective written and oral communication skills· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications Preferred Qualifications · Associate degree· Experience teaching and / or training adult learners· Experience with multimedia instructional techniques· Proven ability to deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with program participants, correctional facility staff, college administrators, and faculty· Personal and professional integrity that communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and an ability to be self-motivated· Evidence of a career that includes strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments Physical Demands Special Conditions Eligibility Summary Eeo Statement Summary South Piedmont Community College provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees based on job related criteria without reference to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, genetic information, or any other legally protected classification.
