Position Purpose :
The Sales Trainer will play a critical role in developing and executing a strategic sales training program that not only strengthens team capabilities but also aligns with our broader sales enablement strategies and objectives.
This role will design, deliver, and continuously optimize training that drives skill development, supports career growth, and enhances overall sales performance.
The ideal candidate is an engaging facilitator with strong sales knowledge, hands-on experience in sales enablement strategies, data-driven training assessments, and a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Position Responsibilities :
- Design and implement a modular, scalable sales training program, creating curriculum and materials that address core competencies aligned with company goals and growth objectives.
- Build customized learning paths for various experience levels, focusing on sales processes, product knowledge, and performance improvement.
- Manage and maintain a content repository for training materials, policies, and procedures, ensuring content is accessible and up-to-date.
- Refine and expand training programs as sales team needs evolve, adapting content to support new product launches, market trends, and company initiatives.
- Conduct training sessions using a variety of methods, including virtual classrooms, interactive e-learning modules, workshops, and on-the-job coaching.
- Use personalized coaching and feedback to reinforce training, adapting methods to meet individual learning styles and team dynamics.
- Leverage digital tools, simulations, and gamified exercises to create high-impact, engaging learning experiences that enhance skill retention.
- Collaborate closely with sales leadership and department heads to identify evolving training needs and skill gaps.
- Utilize CRM and performance data insights to assess development areas, ensuring that training content is relevant and impactful.
- Conduct regular training needs analyses to ensure alignment with both current and future sales requirements.
- Collaborate closely with sales leaders to understand how performance KPIs and sales performance will drive training, including skill improvements and ROI metrics.
- Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve and fine-tune training initiatives.
- Evaluating training effectiveness based on Kirkpatrick model.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to employees to reinforce training and ensure continuous development.
- Assist in developing career development plans for high-potential employees.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest training techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Implement and leverage technology to enhance training delivery and tracking.
- Maintain training records and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal trainers or external training providers as needed.
- Prepare reports on training activities and outcomes for senior management.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization.
- Encourage and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities :
- Proven experience in sales training and development, with a track record of driving performance improvements.
- Expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and modern training methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in training management software and tools, with the ability to leverage data analytics for performance tracking.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills to support individual growth and team development.
- Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.com and advanced training platforms.
- Ability to analyze performance data to develop targeted training solutions.
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills to address varied learning styles and team needs.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Training and Development, Human Resources Development, or Organizational Leadership required. Master’s Degree a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in training. Sales Training required.
- Experience with e-learning platforms and learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
