Orangewood Christian School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Middle School Girls Soccer Coach. This part-time, seasonal position supports the Head Coach in organizing, developing, and overseeing the girls' soccer program.
The ideal candidate will help foster a positive team culture, ensure a safe environment, and promote both skill development and sportsmanship in alignment with the school's Christian values.
The Assistant Middle School Girls Soccer Coach is a position requiring a calling to use God-given talents to further the Kingdom of God.
The Assistant Middle School Girls Soccer Coach is expected to be a minister to the OCS community through actions, speech, attitude, and prayer, as they point students to Christ.
The soccer season runs October - Mid-December.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading practices, drills, and workouts.
- Provide individual and group instruction focused on player development in technical and tactical skills.
- Motivate and encourage student-athletes to develop their abilities both on and off the field.
- Promote teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a Christ-centered approach to competition.
- Assist with game-day preparations, including lineup decisions, warm-ups, and strategies.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes by following proper training techniques, first aid, and injury prevention methods.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required.
- Act as a positive role model, displaying integrity, respect, and Christian character.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, players, and parents.
Requirements :
- Prior experience playing or coaching soccer (preferably at the middle school or high school level).
- Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Ability to connect with and mentor middle school students.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to the mission and values of Orangewood Christian School.
- CPR / First Aid certification required.
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate coaching techniques.
Work Environment :
- Practices are typically held after school, with games scheduled during weekdays or weekends.
- This position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions.
