Job Title : Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR) Job Specialty : Operating Room (OR) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum 1 year of OR experience License : Current RN license Certifications : - RN : BLS, ACLS- CST : BLS, National Certification required - CST- SA : BLS, National Certification required - CSFA Must-Have : - Strong experience in orthopedic and general surgical cases- Ability to circulate surgical cases including patient assessment, knowledge of procedures, skin preparation, and use of basic surgical equipment Job Description : - Provide care for surgical patients across various specialties including Orthopedic, GYN, General, ENT, Urology, and Neuro- Handle complex cases such as total joint replacements, ACLs, arthroplasties, open abdomen surgeries, and more- Adapt to a 1 : 1 patient ratio in the OR- Work independently with basic knowledge of point-of-use cleaning before sending to sterile processing- Collaborate with the anesthesia team, charge nurse, and resource nurse for comprehensive patient care- Utilize the Meditech Expanse EMR system and Alaris IV Pumps- Administer medications through the Pyxis system- Float between the inpatient OR and the outpatient surgery center as needed- Participate in a weekend call rotation, with one 24-hour shift per month- Commit to being on-call one night per week Additional Information : - Orientation consists of 2 days in the hospital and 2 days in the unit- Nurses are expected to wear Galaxy Blue scrubs- Call-back response time is 30 minutes- Participate in potential holiday on-call requirements- Culture in the unit is described as appreciative and supportive*Note : Approval for requested time off may require an extension of contract for any full week of RTO.*
