NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and / or substitute instructors in this discipline.

Applications will be kept on file for the fiscal year ending June 30. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file.

After each fiscal year end the application will expire and a new application must be completed to remain in the applicant pool.

Photography curriculum at NWACC includes darkroom (Photography I), digital (Digital Photography), and advanced darkroom, digital, and alternative processes (Photography II).

The photography curriculum is taught to art and graphic design students. Other subject areas the Art Department offers are Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography and Graphic Design, drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture / 3D Design, ceramics, figure drawing, and an introduction to studio art.

In addition to photography, the Graphic Design Department offers the following courses : Design I, Graphic Design I, Graphic Design II (Symbols), Graphic Design III (Layout and Prepress), Color Studies, Video Production & Editing, Web Application Design, Advanced Graphic Design I, Digital Illustration, 3D Animation, and Graphic Design Internship.

There is significant curricular overlap between degree-seeking students in Art and Graphic Design at NWACC. Email is the primary method that NWACC utilizes to communicate with its applicants.

Rate of pay : $765 per credit hour

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will have experience with darkroom and digital photography, as well as some experience in alternative photographic / imaging processes.

Experience teaching at a community college and understanding the community college mission is a plus.

Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority. Instructional experience in a classroom as well as experience using an online learning management system like Canvas or similar is highly desirable.

On-line delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning will be given special consideration.

Required Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Photography is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the college / post-secondary level is preferred.
