Position Summary The Department of Pharmacy Practice invites candidates for Assistant / Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice (Acute Care-Cardiology) within the Feik School of Pharmacy.
This 12-month tenure-track faculty position will provide clinical service in the Cardiac Acute Care Unit / Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

- Participate in curriculum development.
- Teach in the didactic and experiential curriculum.
- Provide clinical pharmacy service to patients in the Cardiac Acute Care Unit / Intensive Care Unit.
- Advise students and provide individual help to students during weekly office hours.
- Perform regular scholarly research and publication.
- Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
- Comply with UIW Faculty Handbook processes and policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Education Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. Required Work Experience
- Two (2) years of postgraduate residency training in cardiology, internal medicine, pharmacotherapy, or equivalent experience.
- Considerable experience in the management of cardiology conditions in the acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a faculty member in a school of pharmacy.
- Clinical experience in cardiology.
- Board certification in Cardiology or Pharmacotherapy.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
- Licensed pharmacist and eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Texas.
- Faculty selected for this position are expected to become a certified preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Faculty selected for this position must obtain and maintain credentialing with University Hospital and UT Health.
Work Hours Typical Monday through Friday 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm with occasional extended hours / weekends to meet departmental needs and / or needs of the learning community.
