General Summary : The Access Services Department initiates all new client enrollments for Thrive. The Access Services Navigator coordinates day-to-day functions of Access Services by providing initial telephone screening, risk assessment and intake services of individuals who present for Thrive services.
When necessary, this position will refer to Crisis Behavioral Health Services those individuals in need of immediate help or triage.

Essential Responsibilities :
- Perform a risk assessment to determine if the need is emergent, urgent or routine.
- Make appropriate referrals within Thrive as indicated by risk assessment results.
- Collect client data needed to initiate a clinical record.
- Screen prospective clients to determine eligibility for Thrive services.
- Schedule intake and assessment appointments for new or returning clients.
- Troubleshoot problems regarding Thrive referrals and related system issues.
- Interface regularly with Thrive programs and support staff regarding clients / referrals related to Access Services.
- Maintain current knowledge of all Thrive CCBHC services, including DCOs.
- Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with Thrive principles.
- Maintains professional relationships with representatives in Thrive, public officials, community leaders and the general public.
- Maintain and enhance Thrive's culture of learning and growing by serving as a role model, mentor, facilitator, educator, and consultant to Thrive staff on program and service issues.
- Maintain overall information and data about functioning of Access Services.
- Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive's Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Competencies :
- Associate's Degree in Human Service or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- At least two (2) years experience in the Human Service field required.
- SBIRT trained and experience with this evidence-based program preferred.
Certifications, Licenses Requirements :
Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities / tasks of the job.

Supervision :
ACCESS SERVICES NAVIGATOR reports directly to the ACCESS OPERATIONS LEADER and will be supervised according to the Thrive Behavioral Health Supervision Policy.
