- Seniors Program Coordinator, Patient Access, 8 Hrs / Wks
- Location : MercyCare Bldg; Janesville, WI
The Senior Program Coordinator works with members of the senior community. Acts as an advisor for the senior community and assists in service point identification, insurance evaluations and filing, Medicare and supplemental insurance applications, and advance directive information.
Provides educational programs and one on one informational sessions on Mercy's senior services including MercyCare Medicare Insurance products.
Coordinates with other Mercyhealth departments to identify educational programs or services that can be of value to the senior community.
In addition, this position is responsible for developing and disseminating articles and newsletters related to services and programs offered by Mercyhealth or other senior program agencies.
Responsibilities
- Forms partnerships with community agencies and resources to identify the needs of senior adults. Communicate these finding to the appropriate Mercyhealth partners for resolution.
- Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates educational and social events for seniors in the community which helps to foster a positive relationship between Mercyhealth and the senior community.
- Acts as a resource for seniors with their health coverage issues and assists with problem resolution of billing or access to care.
- Coordinates special projects related to improved processes between Mercyhealth and the senior community.
- Acts as an advisor for the senior community and assists in service point identification, insurance evaluations and filing, Medicare and supplemental insurance applications, and advance directive information.
- Develops and disseminates articles and newsletters related to services and programs offered by Mercyhealth or other senior program agencies.
- Coordinates educational programming for both the senior community and Mercyhealth partners.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college of university; or Certification as a Certified Senior Advisor or five years of health care experience involving registration, insurance billing, reimbursement and customer relations.
Certification / Licensure
Wisconsin Insurance Sales License within 12 months
