RAPP Detroit is looking for a Director, Print Production to join our award-winning Program Management team.
YOUR ROLE :
The Director oversees the production and distribution of the assigned marketing material while driving efficiencies across the division.
Asset management, workflow optimization and partner engagement are core tenets of the role. As such, the role touches all aspects of the process from creative to production to fulfillment.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with clearly demonstrated production management skills. This person oversees all aspects of print and digital finishing, adaptive and production.
They will be responsible for servicing the key art needs of all other departments. Responsible for not just print production, this role is relied upon to manage client marketing's needs requests.
Additionally, they will be responsible for working with the legal and asset management teams to ensure continuity and accuracy.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Coordinates, schedules, facilitates and monitors printing and production services
- Reviews print requests; organizes and implements a production work schedule for processing requests
- Maintains job log for assigned projects
- Creates and implements an accountability system for each phase of the production schedule to insure the timely completion and availability of projects
- Provides direction and support during schedule interruptions to accommodate emergency requests
- Inspects and verifies completed projects meet quality standards
- Coordinates production activity between multi-disciplinary groups during job development.
- Maintains ownership of all projects in their group, including the supervision of their subordinates.
- Writes detailed lettershop instructions
- Supplies specification for vendors’ estimates
- Issues all paper work, including POs, in a timely manner
- Reconciles all jobs with team after completion of campaign
- Ability to guide members of the team during creative development to meet the budgetary requirements of the client
- Approves RFP plans written
- Checks all vendor invoices against both POs and estimates before signing off. Signs off bills on a timely basis
- Proactively identifies and helps resolve problems when issues arise
- Understands and stays up-to-date on latest technologies and takes a proactive approach to new formats, materials, etc
- Accepts and proactively supports new challenges and quality improvement efforts
- Adheres to and promotes correct departmental procedures to team members
- Able to handle multiple accounts or more complex accounts.
- Flexible with hours and able to travel.

REQUIRED SKILLS :
- 5-7+ years prior work experience leading Print Production efforts in Advertising or Marketing
- Agency experience a plus
- Highly developed interpersonal, team building and relationship management skills
- Detailed
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly and effectively with little supervision
- Proven Supervisory / Management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment while following department protocol.
- Some supervisory / management skills
- Strong knowledge of various print processes, lettershop, postal, personalization and prepress
- Technology savvy
- Knowledge of current electronic and traditional studios
- Have complete knowledge of all aspects for postal requirements
- Working knowledge of prepress operations
- Bachelor degree required

This range is specific to Detroit and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to : skill set, experience and training, certifications;
etc. This is an exempt position.
