Skywood Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility offering integrated treatment for addiction and mental health conditions.

Skywood Recovery provides individual and group therapy, experiential therapy, equine and art therapy, and yoga. Located in Augusta, MI, a convenient drive from Kalamazoo and Lansing, MI, the campus offers a restorative environment with opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

Qualifications

This position serves as a Kitchen Assistant and provides housekeeping support. This position is responsible, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, for helping prepare food, assisting with serving meals and dishwashing.

This position is also responsible for facility housekeeping duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food according to set standards.
• Maintains safe standards throughout all food preparation and storage areas.
• Monitors and assists in daily cleanup of kitchen including mopping, dishwashing, cleaning and organizing.
• Promotes safety and proper sanitation in kitchen.
• Responsible for daily disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Assists with housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Ability to pay continual attention to detail.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Ability to safely handle knives and other cooking instruments.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Ability to streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to learn job related material primarily through oral instruction and on-the-job observation.
• Enjoys cooking and keeping areas clean, neat and organized

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in janitorial and kitchen.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Sits, stands, bends, kneels, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and / or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to be physically mobile by walking, climb stairs, traverse the campus on uneven hilly terrain.
• A current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required for use of company vehicles and possible business travel.
• Due to the 24 / 7 operational demands, must be available after normal working hours and on holidays to manage emergencies that may arise.
