ms consultants, inc. is actively seeking a Water Resources Engineer for immediate employment working in our Raleigh, North Carolina office.

The successful candidate will support the Water Resources group in projects and serve on project teams planning and designing water resources focused infrastructure for public works and privately owned projects.

What You'll Do :

  • Support the planning and design of stormwater management control measures, including best management practices (BMPs), erosion and sediment control, low impact development (LID), and green stormwater infrastructure (GSI)
  • Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, as well as geospatial evaluations, using computer-based tools and systems
  • Perform watershed and water quality assessments, contributing to various aspects of watershed planning
  • Prepare data analysis, technical reports, engineering documentation, and scientific studies on stormwater, water quality, watershed management, and BMPs to support the water resources team on diverse projects
  • Conduct fieldwork, including environmental sampling, parameter collection, stormwater BMP inspections, BMP retrofit assessments, and stream evaluations
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating efforts with internal and external design teams

Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, or other relevant fields
  • Engineering Intern (EI) License preferred or ability to obtain in 12 months
  • Relevant experience in water resources, Environmental or municipal engineering services

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience in planning and design of post construction Stormwater management best management practices and erosion and sediment control design
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, ArcGIS, Modeling (PCSWMM, HEC-RAS (1D, 2D), HEC-HMS, EPANET etc.)
