Higginbotham, a privately held, independent insurance and financial services firm that ranks within the top 20 nationwide, has an immediate opening for a Commercial Lines Support role for our Metairie, Covington, or LaPlace, LA office.
Essential Tasks :
- Copy jobs with provided specific instructions
- Typing / preparing proposal tabs as instructed
- Processing proposals
- Compiling proposals in either binders or by using binding machine
- Various other clerical tasks as instructed
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Ability and desire to work with people
- Above average cognitive skills
- Strong organization and time management skills, with attention to detail
- Computer skills including Windows Office products (must be proficient in Word)
- Team player with a positive approach to co-workers, work and at the agency
- Highly motivated, self-starter who works independently to accomplish established agency goals
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
- Accountable for own actions and delivers on commitments
- Commitment to continuous learning
Experience and Education :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of applicable experience
- Good communication skills
- Proficiency with personal computers and multi-tasking skills
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
- Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
- Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
- Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions
