At EMES Solar Inc., we are seeking an enthusiastic and technically proficient individual to join our solar development project management team as an Assistant Project Manager.
In this role, you will work closely with our senior team to support our commercial and residential project pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude and keen attention to detail.
Position Overview :
The Assistant Project Manager will assist in the execution of commercial and residential solar projects across NYC, Long Island, and parts of New Jersey.
This role demands strong organizational and multitasking abilities, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach.
A solid grasp of technology platforms and computer software is essential. This is an entry-level position based in our Lynbrook, NY office.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Management :
- Maintain and update project data in our CRM system.
- Compile and organize customer documents post-contract execution.
Project Support :
- Assist in handling and processing change orders.
- Help coordinate project inspections.
- Support the management of DOB Now registration accounts.
- Assist with submitting DOB permit applications.
- Liaise with utility providers as needed.
- Help process and manage state incentive applications.
- Support PTO (Permission to Operate) procedures.
- Assist in managing NYSERDA and DOB project closeout procedures.
Skills and Competencies :
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn about the solar industry.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- Effective in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Knowledge of the solar industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
Abilities :
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors.
- Capable of summarizing, managing, and resolving issues, reporting directly to senior management.
- Effectively prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
- Understand basic aspects of the solar implementation process, including procurement, engineering, and scheduling, to support successful project completion.
- Handle multiple tasks independently and professionally under pressure to meet project KPIs.
- Read, interpret, and manage construction documents, specifications, and bids, recommending changes or additions as necessary.
Experience & Education :
- Minimum of a 2-year technical degree in fields such as Engineering, Project Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or Environmental Science.
- A 4-year degree is preferred but not required.
Languages :
- Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus.
