This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.
The Technical Financial Analyst is responsible for enhancing tools, functions, and procedures, assisting with software implementations and upgrades, and analyzing and distributing financial and statistical reports.
The position requires expertise in writing complex SQL queries, designing customized reports for internal and external clients, and visualizing financial data to uncover key insights and trends.
Essential job junctions include :
- Serve as the subject matter expert for reporting sources and tools; collaborate with other Financial Analysts to ensure comprehensive knowledge of reporting responsibilities.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources using SQL.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports and dashboards that streamline distribution of financial data to support strategic initiatives.
- Lead projects of varying sizes and complexities.
- Contribute to the enhancement of tools, functions and procedures, including assistance with software implementations and upgrades.
- Prepare, analyze and distribute financial and statistical reports.
- Write complex Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to mine, manage and analyze large datasets.
- Analyze potential lateral hires; review historic statistics, project impact to firm and make recommendations on hiring.
- Design and develop customized reporting for internal and external client needs.
- Visualize financial data to highlight key insights and trends; comparison to industry and peers; identify areas of risk and opportunity.
- Conduct detailed statistical analysis of Firm, SBU, clients or timekeepers.
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of budget and forecast; provide variance analyses.
- Deliver profitability analytics that align with the Firm’s strategic goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in related field; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
- Proven experience as Financial Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Advanced degree (MBA or CFA) or relevant certification preferred, but not required.
- Extensive experience with SQL for data manipulation and analysis required.
- Expertise in Power BI (including DAX functions and Power Query) preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions / macros).
- Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows :
- State of California : $82,000 - $156,000
- State of Colorado : $75,000 - $134,000
- Jersey City, NJ : $89,000 - $161,000
- State of Massachusetts : $82,000 - $156,000
- State of New York : $76,000 - $164,000
- State of Washington : $79,000 - 150,000
- Washington, $106,000 - 155,000
The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
