Quality Engineer

We roll up our sleeves and work hard to create products that have been pleasing customers for over 100 years. We are seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Engineer at our Corporate facility located in Glen Allen, VA to work within some of the best product teams in our industry.
This Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring and improving product quality and consumer satisfaction. This position is hybrid, on-site 3 days per week.
Responsibilities of this position include :
- Work with product development teams to establish and communicate quality specifications, drive continuous improvements, and consumer satisfaction for new and existing products.
- Use quality tools along with engineering knowledge and skills to identify root causes of problems, determine corrective and preventative actions, improve quality of product designs, and reduce returns.
- Work with manufacturers and HBB Quality staff in China to implement product quality improvements.
- Travel to China as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Requirements of the position include :
- A BS in ME, EE or related discipline is required; graduate degree preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience as quality engineer or related product assurance, preferably with exposure to both manufacturing and corporate environments.
- Education or training in statistics and other quality tools is required; Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, and / or CQE certification is desired.
- Strong computer skills including experience with data analysis tools (such as MiniTab, Tableau and / or R) is desired.
- Experience with CAD is preferred.
- Must have demonstrated outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the proven ability to set, balance and change priorities to reflect customer requirements.
- Must be a self-starter with proven accomplishments and strong problem solving abilities.
- Must have demonstrated an above-average ability to participate in a team environment.
- Design engineering experience is preferred.
