Job Summary
Develop and direct the new Office of Research Outreach. Creates speeches and remarks for Senior Vice President for Research & Biotechnology (SVPRB) and provides data and visual material for other members of the Research Office Leadership Team.
Identify new regulatory requirements and legislative trends affecting the research enterprise by mining databases, federal agency websites, professional organizations (COGR, AAAS, NIH, NSF, HRSA, etc.
Manages content of announcements and newsletter on behalf of SVPRB updating faculty and the research community about upcoming major initiatives, new research-related regulatory requirements, funding opportunities, events, etc.
Archives messaging and maintains an organized record of all communication and marketing materials of the Research Office.

Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Communications or Journalism, JD, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in advocacy, law, public or media relations or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience successfully writing.

Leads the development and drafting of impactful speeches, townhalls and other remarks for
SVPRB and members of the Research Office leadership team, as appropriate.
Develops, drafts and supports the placement of timely and compelling op-eds on pressing
association priorities at influential media outlets. Percentage Of Time 30 Job Duty - Develop and edit a regular Newsletter from the SVPRB’s office addressing the entire university
research community.- Determines and develops message tracks related to major research initiatives, new regulatory
requirements from federal agencies, granting agencies and legislators, that may impact the

to assist faculty in opening
accounts, monitor users activities and collect metrics to be used for data-driven decision making.
Leads the development of compelling external-facing products including fact sheets, talking
