Description
We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a SQL DBA, you will be responsible for managing our SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
You will work closely with our development and infrastructure teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that meet the needs of our organization.
Database Design and Architecture :
oDesign, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database architectures.
oCollaborate with software developers and system architects to optimize database design for application performance.
Performance Tuning and Optimization :
oConduct regular performance monitoring and tuning of databases to ensure optimal efficiency.
oProactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and system issues.
Data Security and Compliance :
oImplement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
oEnsure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.
Backup and Recovery :
oDevelop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss and minimize downtime.
oConduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures.
Monitoring and Maintenance :
oEstablish and maintain database monitoring systems to proactively identify and address issues.
oPerform regular maintenance tasks, such as patching and updates, to keep databases running smoothly.
Capacity Planning :
oMonitor and analyze database growth trends to plan for future capacity needs.
oMake recommendations for hardware and software upgrades as necessary.
Collaboration and Communication :
oCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address database-related requirements.
oCommunicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Documentation :
oMaintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
oDevelop and update disaster recovery plans.
Mentorship and Leadership :
oProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior members of the database administration team.
oStay current with industry trends and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Strong expertise in database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Experience with data security and compliance.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Shell).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead technical initiatives.
