Overview :
Our client is now hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a desire to work on Utility and Oil & Gas projects.

We need our Senior Engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment. In this role you will complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within the electrical engineering discipline.
You will apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses which may involve the use of ETAP and other similar applications.
Requirements :
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 8+ years of related work experience
- Active PE (Professional Engineer) registration in CA required, PE in another state acceptable, but must be able to obtain a CA PE within 3 months
- Experience in low voltage and medium voltage heavy industrial design, substation design, transmission, and distribution line design, and ETAP modeling required.
- Working knowledge of applicable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. NEC, ASME, ANSI, ISA, ASHRAE, IEEE, ASTM, NFPA).
- Proficiency in utilizing software packages typically associated with Electrical Engineering is required
- Experience working with 480V and up
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
- Good organizational and communication skills. Expresses ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Accepts responsibility for own actions and honors commitments.
- Willingness and ability to travel to client offices, and project sites for meetings, performing inspections and walk downs, and to assist field personnel and construction team with Electrical technical issues.
- Proficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
Duties :
- Performs complex engineering tasks and difficult engineering work efficiently and accurately.
- Extract engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Prepares and issues specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
