Position Summary : This is a professional supervisor position that providing supervisory oversight for Homeless Outreach Mobile Engagement under the Housing First Division.
Homeless Outreach help adults and families living without homes, or who are at risk of homelessness, by linking them to a variety of resources and providing behavioral health care throughout the community, including at local shelters.
Our Homeless Outreach program provides three types of outreach (1) jurisdictional street outreach, pairing an Outreach worker with a Law Enforcement officer who both canvas areas within their jurisdiction looking for and engaging with individuals and families who are living street homeless, (2) dispatchable street outreach and (3) targeted street outreach which are aimed at assisting the most high-risk populations.
The Supervisor - Homeless Outreach Mobile Engagement will play an integral role of support, coaching and guidance for a pair of Street Outreach teams who are working with adults and families living without homes, or who are at risk of homelessness and may be dealing with substance abuse, mental health or co-occurring mental health & substance abuse concern.
Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field with a minimum of two years' leadership experience within an outpatient community mental health organization, homeless services organization or social service agency
- Must have or immediately acquire knowledge of all community resources.
- Must be computer literate and be proficient in Outlook, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word. Must be able to work proficiently in a Windows environment and be able to learn other software applications quickly.
Must be competent in the use of electronic health records, and be able to use multiple electronic systems including the Pinellas Homeless Information Management System (P-HMIS)
Must have reliable transportation and be able to use personal vehicle to transport clients. Must have and maintain clear driving record, must have valid Florida Driver License, maintain required automobile insurance coverage and pass the annual vehicle inspection.
