Job Duties :
- This position provides direct crisis intervention and system coordination services for up to 6 months as a part of the Pinellas Integrated Care Team (PIC Team), located at Personal Enrichment for Mental Health Services (PEMHS).
- Provides individual screening, assessment and case management as needed demonstrating appropriate skills and competencies;
employs solution-oriented strategies of intervention that are consistent with best practice principles.
Initiates and engages client in an intake process which includes orientation to treatment, enrollment bundle, all other required documentation and record keeping in accordance with Suncoast Center's policies and procedures.
Is efficient in using Avatar, Suncoast Center's electronic medical record.
Provides person-centered, culturally competent, mental health and / or co-occurring mental health and substance abuse services.
Utilizes supervision appropriately to review cases individually and at treatment team meetings; and maintains excellence in clinical practice.
- Collaborates and connects various systems of care including behavioral health, primary care, peer and natural supports, housing, education, vocation, and the justice system to successfully coordinate services to ensure the individual's needs are met holistically.
- Acts as a clinical resource for community partners. Attends weekly meetings to review barriers and gaps in services. Attends community meetings as needed.
- Cooperates and participates fully with the PIC Team on-call response system. Provides on-call crisis intervention covering nighttime and weekend hours as requested.
Demonstrates flexibility in support of the overall mission of the PIC Team Program in the delivery of the on-call services.
- Supports and promotes a culturally sensitive recovery based philosophy. Strives to create a treatment environment that supports client efforts to optimize functioning through recovery.
- Identifies individuals who require risk assessment and intervention providing appropriate responses to level of risk. Effectively manages crisis situations and other emergency situations.
- Completes progress notes in Avatar accurately and completely within 24 hours of providing service.
- Assists clients in living independently in the community by providing services such as transportation, advocacy, assistance obtaining benefits and medications and attending psychiatric appointments and other needs as they arise.
- Shows flexibility; accepts additional duties assigned and is responsive to requests from supervisor.
- Participates fully in bi-weekly supervision with program manager; reviews treatment techniques, case progress, and job performance.
- Meets productivity standard of 60%.
- Minimum Qualifications :
Education : A Bachelor's Degree in a social services or behavioral health field from an accredited institution. Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) certification preferred.
Licensure : N / A
Experience : Experiencing working with adults in need of mental health services and their families. Experience providing clinical services to forensic clients preferred.
Must be 21 years of age.
Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF, and Must have valid Florida Driver's License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.

Working Conditions : Requires both indoor and outdoor work with outreach to off-site locations. Exposure to extreme heat and humidity during the summer months.
Schedule may be irregular and include evenings.
