Austin Gastroenterology is a 40-year-old practice with more than 35 physicians and 30 advanced practice providers located in 17 locations throughout the greater Austin area.

We are currently looking to add a full-time Medical Assistant. Primary location can be at our Hero Way or Wyoming Springs locations.

Additional travel to sister locations may rarely be required depending on coverage needs .

Main Job Functions

• Rooms and triage patients
• Prepares physician and mid-level charts prior to patient office visit
• Prepares patients for examinations
• Measures and records vital signs
• Records patient interview and history
• Maintain stock of medical supplies in exam rooms
• Process prescription refill requests
• Demonstrates teamwork in the delivery of patient care

Qualifications

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience : Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and / or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.

Experience working in a Gastroenterology practice is preferred.

• Previous leadership experience highly preferred .
• Performance Requirements :

• Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.

Schedule

Monday- Friday 8am- 5pm, day shift, onsite.
