Job Title : Catholic Music Director
Job Type : Part Time
Location : Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ
Qualifications :
- The Catholic Music Director will provide necessary services to perform choir and congregational leadership and musical expertise for Mass at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (DMAFB) Chapel.
- Must demonstrate professional competence through academic certification and / or experience in Catholic music performance and choral direction.
- Proven familiarity with the requirements of Catholic worship.
- Ability to sight-read, select, and prepare liturgical music, conduct choral and congregational singing, and direct accompanists and other instrumentalists.
- Willingness to provide services in alignment with standard ecclesiastical liturgical practices.
Duties :
- Select music for liturgical services in collaboration with the accompanist and Catholic Chaplain, ensuring alignment with Roman Catholic traditions.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals separate from liturgies and prepare music for choir members while adhering to copyright laws.
- Meet regularly with the Catholic Chaplain for music planning and attend Parish Advisory Council and liturgical meetings.
- Provide music services for weekend Masses and special services as directed, including warm-up sessions.
- Attend sound system training for both chapels on DMAFB.
