Allied Environmental Services / CTL Engineering is hiring a Blaster / Coating Technician!

Allied Environmental Services, Inc ( https : / / www.allied-environmental.com / ) has provided responsive and effective industrial cleaning and environmental field services to private industry, municipalities, military, hospitals, and public facilities for more than 30 years. Allied Environmental Services is a subsidiary of CTL Engineering ( www.ctleng.com ) - an award-winning full service consulting engineering firm with (15) locations across OH, IN, WV, KY, NC, SC, and VA and a rich history over our (98) years in business. We provide civil / site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing / building envelope, A / V system design, troubleshooting and installation, and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

Responsibilities :

  • Role will be based out of Lima, OH.
  • Most work is performed outdoors.
  • This position requires experienced, professionally trained personnel to set up and operate spray or rolling machinery to coat, or paint, a wide variety of industrial machinery, tanks or other items indoors and outdoors.
  • Must have proven technical knowledge and the ability to discuss and recommend solutions in a variety of situations to Allied customers.
  • Document all activities to include material usage and waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements.
  • Ensure all coatings are in compliance with contract specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Ability to execute all facets of abrasive blasting (using industrial vapor / sand blaster) and application of effective coatings.
  • Complete projects safely, precisely and productively according to customer specifications.

    • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated ability to use all wet and dry gauges as well as other inspection instruments.
  • Experience using airless and conventional spray pots.
  • Excellent communication and planning to coordinate with on-site inspectors, customer representatives, other contractors and co-workers.
  • Pipeline and refinery experience is a plus.
  • Confined space and elevated work platforms (In excess of 25 feet) experience preferred.
  • Exhibit sufficient technical knowledge, problem solving ability in regards to on-site issues.
  • Thorough understanding and compliance of OSHA requirements.
  • Able to pass a criminal background check in order to gain access to potential government or pipeline facilities.
  • Clean driving record for insurability purposes.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.
  • All travel expenses covered when working on a project that requires a hotel stay.

    • Education and / or Experience -

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from technical school; or ...

    • 5+ years related experience and / or training; or ...

  • equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Language Skills -

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    • Mathematical Skills -

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations -

  • OSHA 10 hour
