Job Summary :

The Human Resources Generalist position will be based onsite in Charlotte, North Carolina and will focus on Human Resources functions including but not limited to Recruitment, Payroll, Benefits, and Policy Administration.

The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar Human Resources role. This will start as a temporary position with an opportunity for full time employment.

The position will work onsite until hired on permanently and then will be eligible for the hybrid work schedule.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Process and troubleshoot weekly, bi-weekly, and international payrolls accurately, on time and ensure compliance with company policies and laws.
  • Assist in developing policies that support business objectives.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all federal and state employment laws.
  • Report workers' compensation injuries and coordinate the return-to-work process.
  • Assist with the annual benefit open enrollment process, provide new hire benefit orientation and assist employees with benefit-related questions
  • Manage the employee lifecycle in Company's HRIS including on-boarding, leaves, termination inclusive of all benefits and COBRA upon separation.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating with recruiters, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist in the new hire process by conducting background screenings, onboarding presentations, and processing employment verifications.
  • Assist with scheduled events and volunteer opportunities.
  • Serve as an advocate and sounding board for all employee issues and concerns.
  • All other duties as needed.

  • Collaborative approach to problem solving that incorporates stakeholders in the development of solutions that facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Efficient time management skills

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Business, or Organizational Development preferred and 2+ years of HR generalist, or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated high level of business acumen and knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Exposure to payroll practices
  • Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations
  • Customer focused / service partnership mindset.
  • Ability to flex depending on audience with a high EQ.
  • Very strong communication skills and the proven ability to communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Excellent computer skills required including intermediate levels of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong preference for proficiency with UKG Ready
  • Ability to work in an HR team environment and have high organizational standards.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Top notch communication skills including :
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and present information to employees at all levels of the organization, as well as representatives at outside organizations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, present a professional image at all times, gain the trust and confidence of others, work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, and always project a positive attitude.
