The Accounting Specialist reviews the previous day's activities for all branches and departments by checking for out-of-balance situations / errors and correcting any discrepancies that are found.
This position has a starting hourly rate of $20.48, but your offer amount may be increased with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.
A Day in the life of an Accounting Specialist can look like :
- Summarize and verify daily Accounting transactions from all branches and departments of the credit union. Resolve branch and back-office discrepancies in daily General Ledgers (GLs).
- Correct daily out-of-balance situations. Post all daily GL journal entries.
- Support front-line team members and management with daily queries regarding items such as bonds, transfer clearings, checks, foreign items, and over / short situations.
- Perform monthly GL reconciliations for assigned accounts according to GL standards.
- Perform system administration functions for Alloya Corporate Credit Union. This includes adding / removing team members, privilege changes, and token administration.
- Regularly perform back up function for Accounts Payable and Expense processing, daily bank account reconcilements, card settlement, and daily balancing and transfer of FICS mortgage loans and payments to Symitar.
What you bring to the table :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of accounting financial institution experience.
- Proficiency using Excel.
You might also have :
- Accounting or business degree.
- 2+ years of Accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency using Excel.
