OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is looking for an Entry Level Assistant Project Manager. The Assistant PM will work with project managers to support execution and implement key project processes on projects within the Energy Manufacturing and Bioprocessing Business Unit.
The position can be executed from any of the following offices : Greenwood Village, CO; Chattanooga, TN; Baltimore, MD; Richmond, VA;
Newport News, VA; Tulsa, OK.
Typical annual pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Assist the Project Managers in the coordination of disciplines in the development of engineering work products; developing, managing, and updating key project execution documents, including estimating labor;
developing project execution schedules; measuring earned value and presenting project status reports that include scope, schedule, and budget updates.
- Assist in developing project scope and the associated Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), including client site visits to walk down projects, attendance at coordination meetings, and support construction activities.
- Provide support to the Project Managers in the opening of proposals and projects.
- Support Market Leads and Project Managers in the entry and maintenance of information into our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Platform
- Interface with Merrick personnel and client representatives.
- Organize and execute multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Coordinate, manage, and communicate multiple project activities and demands, identifying priorities and critical issues.
- Assist the project managers in coordination with our procurement and construction teams. Coordinate resolution of project challenges, assist in driving a resolution.
- Work with the Project Managers to develop detailed, resource loaded project design schedule.
- Evaluate project schedule progress / performance and identify problem areas.
- Monitor and implement the change management process to approve changes to the previous schedules.
- Assist project managers in the validation and approval of invoices.
- Ensure that physical progress is being measured and reported in WBS detail, and that the integrated schedule is updated based on the progress.
- Set up and support project quality processes.
- Set up and support supplier / vendor drawing processes, including verifying submittals are accurate, timely and complete.
- Work with document control to assure project documentation is complete.
- Provide support to the project managers to ensure adherence to our project close out process
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
- Zero (0) - four (4) years of experience in engineering, project management, or construction.
- Proficiency working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access).
- Candidates for this position must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination / Possess Engineer in Training (EIT) License.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Primavera.
