Primary responsibilities of a Floor Tech
The primary duties of a floor tech typically include the following :
- Stripping, waxing, and buffing floors
- Cleaning and sanitizing floors and carpets
- Dusting baseboards, vents, and other surfaces
- Operating floor machines, such as buffers, scrubbers, and carpet extractors
- Maintaining supplies and inventory
- Following safety procedures
Secondary responsibilities
In addition to these primary responsibilities, floor techs are often tasked with performing secondary duties, which may include :
- Cleaning restrooms, lobbies, and other areas
- Emptying trash and recyclable bins
- Responding to requests for technical assistance
- Performing minor maintenance and repairs
- Assisting with moving furniture and equipment
