A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Accurately assist with on-site admissions, immunizations, drug screens and additional testing when scheduled
- Provides direct care (i.e.-vital signs, transporting to other departments) or other care to patients according to Meridian policy and procedure as delegated by and under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Competent in Blood Pressure, Pulse and Narcan administration
- Consult with physicians, nurses and Medical Manager regarding judgments and effective decisions related to patient care
- Perform clerical and supportive duties including answering phones and order entry as needed
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks for the assigned patients in a timely and efficient manner, and under the direction of the licensed nurse
- Collaborate provide clear communication to all clients, staff, physicians and visitors
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Medical Assistant education and / or 2 years experience required
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- Computer proficiency required
