Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

The Part-Time Maintenance C Mechanic Trainee position is for those that are currently enrolled in trade school and are interested in working for Frito Lay while going to school.

Frito Lay s Maintenance C Mechanic Internship program is designed to provide students an opportunity to work side by side with experienced mechanics while gaining hands on experience in rebuilding, repairing, troubleshooting, fabricating, and building industrial equipment.

This C mechanic program length will be determined by the site maintenance team and will have the caveat of completing schooling within a given time frame determined by the site maintenance department.

The ultimate goal is to prepare students for full time employment with Frito Lay as a Maintenance Mechanic (career progression would be to start as a C mechanic, then move to a B mechanic and eventually an A mechanic).

The program will be designed to match work tasks with current or previous courses taken. The successful candidate will work 16 to 24 hours a week in an industrial maintenance environment.

The work hours will flex based on your class schedule and determined by the site maintenance department. The candidate will attend all required trainings including Safety Programs and job-specific trainings.

Frito Lay will provide all required personal protective equipment including safety boots, shirts and tools needed to complete tasks and assignments.

Minimum Qualifications*

• Strong performance, attendance, and academic standing with technical school program
• Willingness to work 16 to 24 hours per week and to commit to a determined time frame set by the site maintenance team
• Must be currently enrolled in trade school
• Must have at least 1 semester completed in the industrial maintenance or similar program
• Authorized to work in United States on a permanent basis
• Must be 18 years of age or older Our site is looking for those that are interested in building a career with Frito Lay.

Interested candidate should be willing and able to ask questions and learn from those that are currently doing the job of mechanic.

Willingness to gain knowledge and ask for feedback to improve is a must. Candidates will most likely be partnered with our site critical care mechanics working to troubleshoot and PM different types of machines to decrease downtime and improve performance.
