Job Description
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certified Safety Professional
- Strong knowledge of California EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA)
- 5+ years of experience developing & implementing EHS programs
Responsibilities :
- Develops, administers, and implements EHS programs per corporate & governmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, fire department).
- Manages EHS permits, licenses, and registrations.
- Implements Corporate Initiatives.
- Researches state, federal, and local rules related to operations.
- Prepares annual, quarterly, and monthly reports for internal & governmental use.
- Initiates inspections and prepares reports.
- Develops procedures for compliance.
- Tracks progress & corrective actions.
- Collaborates with leadership on assigned duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A Day in the Life :
- Monitors pollution prevention, compliance, and audits.
- Prepares environmental impact reports for new projects & permit changes.
- Reviews environmental documents from regulatory agencies.
- Evaluates regulations for financial and industrial impacts.
- Resolves compliance issues with regulatory bodies.
- Ensures corrective actions are taken for safety hazards.
- Promotes EHS employee training and awareness.
- Develops safety programs (e.g., Hazardous Energy, Ergonomics, Radiation Safety).
- Conducts EHS reviews for new product developments and facility modifications.
- Enhances Safety Culture and understanding of risks.
- Participates in Emergency Response Team as Incident Commander.
Specialist Career Stream :
- Typically an individual contributor managing projects & mentoring colleagues.
- Works from design to implementation, adhering to policies using advanced knowledge.

- Manages large projects / processes with limited oversight.
- Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to specialists.

- Represents the organization as the primary contact for projects.

Required Knowledge & Experience :
- Requires mastery of a specialty area, typically gained through advanced education & experience.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements & California regulations preferred.
