Job Title : Tube Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Tube Machine Operator with strong troubleshooting skills and in-depth knowledge of cutting tools.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in using precision measuring devices to inspect dimensions accurately and have the ability to setup, program, and run a Pines & Horn Automatic Bending machine and a Hossfeld Bender machine.
A strong understanding of mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts is essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex setups and efficiently execute all required bends on tubing up to 3 diameter utilizing hand benders, machine benders, and special bending fixtures.
- Conduct operations requiring multiple bends, twists, or coils to meet print specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings (inch and metric) and BOMs.
- Perform layout and precision inspections using precision measuring devices, calipers, height gauges, and protractors.
- Measure and verify dimensions using inspection tooling, documenting methods and procedures for efficient setups and repeat jobs.
- Maintain accurate logs and other necessary documents and use computer-based systems.
- Perform visual first-article inspections and first-piece inspections.
- Assist or oversee less skilled personnel to use the best method to achieve results in a safe and timely manner.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Participate in the safety program and contribute to a safe, clean work environment.
Essential Skills
- Troubleshooting skills and knowledge of cutting tools.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring devices to inspect dimensions accurately within +.005 and angles + 0.5 degrees.
- Ability to setup, program, and run a Pines & Horn Automatic Bending machine and a Hossfeld Bender machine (preferred).
- Capability to calculate fractional sizes, decimal equivalents, diameters, and perform math problems (using basic math addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and geometry and trigonometry.
- Strong understanding of mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts.
- Excellent visual acuity, manual dexterity, and physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- 4-5+ years manufacturing or related work experience.
- degree or equivalent experience, or any combination of education and experience.
