The HT Group has partnered with an Austin, TX-based retail sector client in the search for a qualified Senior Accountant with both public accounting and publicly-traded company experience, for an immediate need.
Our client is looking for a self-starter with corporate consolidations experience, strong GAAP / technical accounting knowledge, and previous experience working with a variety of internal entities.
This role can be fully-remote in the listed states our client operates business in with travel to Austin, TX HQ 1-2 times / year for trainings.
Direct Hire Base salary up to $95K+ bonus / solid benefits Remote (approved state list below) or Austin, TX

What you will do :
- Prepare and record various journal entries including accruals, reclasses, and other month end activity.
- Perform month-end account reconciliations.
- Perform month-end close activities.
- Performing consolidations across several business units.
- SOX and GAAP compliance; documentation of new standards and internal SOPs.
- Manage and maintain general ledger accuracy, ensuring all chart of account codes are used appropriately.
- Assist with various audits.
- Prepare various financial reports as required.
- Perform other accounting duties and support other team members as required or assigned.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Active CPA preferred; Previous public accounting experience required.
- Minimum 4+ years of overall accounting experience including experience in public company settings of over $500M highly desired.
- Previous Workday ERP experience a huge plus.
- Intermediate-to-advanced MS Excel proficiency required.
- Proven ability to apply sound professional judgment to recognize and resolve problems within established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting and US GAAP principles.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work; and time management and organizational skills.
