About the Role

You will report to a Buyer and share ownership of a category. You will assist in daily / seasonal tasks to help drive the business.

As the Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for maintaining data integrity, supporting the Buyer on seasonal needs, and working closely with multiple cross-functional teams.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment while working with a highly collaborative team.

This role requires being onsite in our San Francisco office Monday through Thursday, and remote option on Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and maintain all SKUs
  • Responsible for visual line and merchandise list
  • Communicate as needed with the Merchandise team in regards to project and sample status, costing / SKU worksheets; responsible for passing new SKUs for placement once approved and tracking to PO due dates
  • Responsible for sample management communicating and partnering with our vendors, photo, and warehouse teams to track sample positions
  • Enter and maintain all regular pricing for DTC and Retail, working closely with inventory partners and sourcing teams
  • Partner with the Buyer and Visual teams to plan seasonal retail floor sets, including assisting with seasonal walkthrough setups
  • Prepare reporting and analysis of returns data monthly; recommend action plan to Buyer
  • Manage and recommend personalization techniques, opportunities, and execution for photography and site
  • Stay up-to-date on business trends, reporting, and historical data; assist the Buyer with business opportunities
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the relevant retail markets; maintain and upkeep competitive analyses
  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with cross-functional partners across inventory, design, development, e-commerce, and creative teams
  • Take on general administrative duties as needed
  • Note : Travel is required 15-20 times a year to both our Richmond ,CA Warehouse for photoshoots, and our Palo Alto, CA store for floorsets.

Criteria

  • BA / BS degree required
  • 1-2 years of retail buying experience
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills
  • Deadline-driven and strong project management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal (strong business acumen)
  • Familiar and comfortable with pulling sales reports and strong ability to analyze business metrics
  • Detail-oriented takes the appropriate time to complete tasks and reviews work to ensure accuracy
  • Must be able to lift boxes and spend time on your feet as required for floor sets, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint); ability to create pivot tables and experience with advanced formulas such as VLOOKUP a plus

The expected starting pay range for this position is $65,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
