Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting an Administrative Assistant 3 to support activities for the MD program curriculum.

This position is responsible for completing special projects and reports involving advanced reasoning, judgment, and technical skills, performing educational data manipulation, charting, and reporting to support operations and accreditation, and solving complex logistical problems with high stakes communication.

Duties include (but are not limited to) :

Assist Curricular Leadership with data requests, block schedules, LMS management, including integration of Google Calendar, Canvas, and Apollo

Research, compile and summarize information; compose narrative reports, announcements, correspondence, and other materials.

Confirm instructors, construct assignments and IRAT / GRAT questions in Exam Soft.

Database inquiries, database creation and curation.

Gather materials from instructors, manage block and session levels.

Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, directors, and deans, provide general support.

Act as proctor for exams and quizzes.

Make purchases and reconcile in Workday.

Manage educational spaces and maintain departmental documentation.

Participate in cross-training and create and maintain desk manual / job outline.

ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2024. Please refer to the link for more information : Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas : maintenance of complex records and files;
  • public / customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms;

and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR

One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $22.13 / hr Step 03 $24.02 / hr)

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets.

A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
