Assemble aircraft components and subassemblies. Install items with the use of sealants, compounds, fasteners, and primers.

Ability to use air gauges, micrometers, calipers, hone, press, drills and other shop equipment. Responsible for filing, burring, crimping, framing, drilling, reaming, etc. Essential Functions :

  • Military or aerospace industry experience with complex metallic or composite assemblies
  • Must follow work instruction and be accountable for work performed
  • Good oral and written communication skills required
  • Good eye-hand coordination
  • Basic inspection gauges
  • Use common hand and power tools
  • Understand and use simple drawings & sketches
  • Able to fit check and assemble detail parts
  • Able to identify and properly install fasteners and sealants
  • Perform any other incidental duties as may be needed.

Required Education & Experience :

  • High school diplomas or GED required
  • Experience in honing, detail machining, blueprint reading, and aircraft assembly methods preferred
  • Airframe and power plant (A&P) license / certification, aircraft mechanic certifications, or like certifications preferred
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing control plans
  • Control of Nonconforming products
  • Familiar with Quality Policy and Objectives
  • Math Skills : Good math skills to understand complex instructions.
  • Attention to Details
  • Ability to read and understand customer drawings and specifications
  • Experience with tools : Calipers Height Gauge Drill Hand tools Rivet tools

Physical Demands and Work Environment The typical work environment is an office setting; occasionally the employee may be required to visit the manufacturing areas and / or customer sites where they could be exposed to loud noises, fumes / odors and hazards associated with moving equipment.

Include standing for long periods of time, reaching, lifting and bending. Working with machine tooling equipment also comes with certain safety hazards.

Employees must be able to follow equipment safety rules and use safe work practices to control these hazards. Some requirements include wearing the correct personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and earplugs, due to flying material bits and machine noise.

The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye, and hand protection, and use of safety footwear may be required.
