Purpose of Position

The Vulcanization Specialist is responsible to operate machines and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the proper cleaning and preparation of materials;

efficiently inspect finished work.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate with hand and power tools like rail benders, shears, punches, presses, saws, cold expansion tools, grinders, and Huckbolt tools.
  • Perform inspections to eliminate spoilage.
  • performs the tasks of, but not limited to load, unload, inspection, clean and understand complete Shot Blast operations.
  • Removal of parts from the automated paint line after they have been painted and dried.
  • Painter-Set up, operate, and maintain paint equipment used to apply primer and adhesive.
  • Activate and run Shot Blast machine by operating a control panel.
  • Clean up maintenance and machine area regularly.
  • Read and follow the production schedule.
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands :

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing abilities related to job assigned.

Job Requirements (e.g. education, experience, skills and desired competencies)

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Experience in Forklift and Crane operations is an asset.
  • Knowledge of operating rail benders, shears, punches, presses, cold expansion tools, grinders, Huckbolt tools, hydraulic benders or presses, shears, punches, and saws.
  • Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
  • Experience with measuring tools preferred.
  • Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Working Location :

Pueblo, Colorado

Shift :

Monday to Friday (Saturday if required), 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm or 2 : 30pm 10 : 30pm

Salary :

$21.07 / hr - $22.69 / hr
