We are hiring for a Staff Engineer to join our Van Note-Harvey business and contribute to multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Princeton, NJ.

This person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of public and private site development projects across various markets!

Primary Responsibilities :

• Preparation of engineering design drawings from schematic design through construction documents.
• Assist with the preparation of technical documentation (; engineering reports, technical specifications, etc.) as well as municipal site plan submissions for a variety of site / civil projects (residential, private, and commercial) and documents for municipal bonding.
• Meet with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Assist with field inspections, as needed.
• Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
• 4+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with design projects.

Preferred Qualifications :

• PE in NJ is a plus!
• Experience working on greenfield / land development projects.
• Advanced proficiency with site design functions : site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, municipal & land-use regulatory approvals, etc.
• Proficiency with engineering tools ( CADD, project management software, etc.); experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 (or later) is a plus!
• Proven understanding of relevant NJ regulations (at the State, County, and Municipal level); expertise with stormwater management regulations is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency on standard office software applications : Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
• Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); this person will be expected to demonstrate effective writing skills when preparing reports and technical specifications.
