Property Claim Advocate
Lockton is seeking an addition to our high performing Property team. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise and advocacy for clients in the event of a first party property loss that is significant, complex, or contentious from claim initiation to claim closure.
Candidate will communicate frequently and identify and manage expectations of all parties involved in the claim to include client team, Lockton account team and carrier partner team members.
Responsibilities
Manage first party claims from first notification to settlement that require cradle-to-grave Advocacy.
Assist internal and external clients with coverage analysis, issues, measurement disputes, and other claim challenges.
Request and secure advance payments against claim indemnity upon identification.
Manage relationship between internal and external claim teams over the lifespan of claim.
Communicate with the Lockton business unit or series on all claim issues including analytics, policy issues, claim development and quantum.
Assist client with identification and engagement with valued vendor partners that could be needed during the life of the claim.
Vendors to include forensics accountants, engineers, or legal partners.
Participate in new business opportunities, identify cross selling opportunities, and demonstrate Lockton service values to win clients.
Identify and liaise professionally with carrier partners on claim issues as advocate for client and with thorough knowledge of coverage and claim issues.
Ability to travel to client site for claims review meetings, strategy meeting and relationship building.

Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in business field, related field, or equivalent practical insurance claim management experience
3-5 years’ experience handling, or management of third-party adjusters in complex, or high value first party property claims in all industry verticals.
Some experience in international claims preferred.
Experience in the insurance industry with understanding of industry best practices.
Understanding of insurance industry law and appropriate application in claim scenario.
Strong knowledge and ability to demonstrate technical expertise of commercial property forms.
Strong knowledge of the various components of a complex property claims, specifically business interruption / time element and forensic accounting practices.
Developed analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to identify and communicate effectively, pre-loss scenarios that impact client or prospect.
Experienced oral and written communication, presentation and negotiating skills.
Professional qualifications (e.g. AIC, CPCU) and / or evidence of continuing professional development.
