Professional Search Group OC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join their client's team.
The ideal Payroll Specialist will have experience processing payroll for over 100 employees, possess a solid understanding of California and Federal labor laws, and be familiar with exempt vs.
non-exempt processing, benefit deductions, accruals, and retirement funding.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities :
- Accurately process bi-weekly payroll for over 100 employees, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage and calculate overtime, holiday pay, and shift differentials based on varying shifts.
- Ensure proper classification and processing of exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Handle benefit deductions, accruals, and retirement contributions, accurately updating payroll records as needed.
- Assist with employee inquiries regarding payroll, ensuring excellent communication and customer service.
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll records and employee information.
Payroll Specialist Qualifications :
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, handling payroll for 100+ employees.
- Solid understanding of CA and Federal labor laws, with a focus on payroll compliance.
- Proficiency in calculating and processing overtime, holiday pay, and other payroll variables.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all payroll functions.
- Excellent communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Experience with Workday is a plus, but not required
