Job Description :

The primary role and responsibilities of the position entail, but are not limited, to handling all phases of pursing deficiency balances on defaulted accounts through charge off and post charge off.

This includes collections and negotiations with dealerships, working with account managers and area managers to help on collections, working with the remarketing team to help manage and liquidate the recovery of collateral when applicable and working with both internal legal and outside attorney firms on litigation and civil lawsuits.

The candidate must have great attention to detail and be able to multitask. In addition, the candidate should have great communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Adaptability and multitasking are essential to the position. Experience in debt collection is a plus.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

The Loss Mitigation Agent will work directly with the Dealer Services Manager, internal Account Management, external Area Managers, Remarketing / Consumer Litigation Agent as well as Dealerships in the effort to collect on all deficiency balances from the time a dealer is defaulted through charge off.

This agent will also work with the Internal Legal team, as well as outside counsel in efforts to collect on the deficiency balances.

The agent will need to have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, as well as exceptional organization skills.

Also, this role entails running and preparing various types of reports where accuracy is imperative, so attention to detail is key.

Also, the ability to manage and follow-up on multiple tasks will help ensure success in this role. Time management is another key attribute that will help ensure the candidates success in the role.

  • Prepares legal documents, including but not limited to, complaints, default judgement packages and demand letters.
  • Business-to-Business collections and negotiations with internal and external contacts
  • Acts as a liaison between Westlake and its affiliates, including outside Law firms.
  • Facilitate title searches and mortgage closures.
  • Run and create reports.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment yet can take direction and work independently and has initiative.

Desired Skills & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in B2B collections and / or legal collections.
  • Previous experience in Auto Finance is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized & can maintain and follow-up on payment schedules.
  • Attention to Detail and the ability to multitask are a must.

What’s the expected pay for this role?

  • $17.28 per hour with potential monthly bonus pay.
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
