Senior Product Owner

The company also provides technical, professional and managed services. This is a full-time remote role with the expectation that you will come into the Miramar, FL headquarters office as needed.

Summary

The Senior Product Owner is a pivotal role within our agile development team, responsible for driving the strategic vision and direction of our products.

This individual acts as the linchpin between market requirements, customer needs, and the technical capabilities of our development team.

The Senior Product Owner takes ownership of the product backlog, rigorously refining, prioritizing, and validating the work that the development team undertakes to ensure each increment aligns with the overarching business strategy, resonates with customer expectations, and positions the product as a market leader.

Maximized Product Value : Deliver regular product increments that align with customer feedback and business priorities to provide the highest possible value and drive competitive advantage.

Clear and Well-Managed Product Backlog : Maintain a prioritized backlog that accurately reflects strategic business priorities and user needs, enabling the development team to focus on high-value tasks.

Effective Stakeholder Engagement and Communication : Foster strong communication with stakeholders, including executives and key clients, to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and gather valuable feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Formalize and communicate the product vision and strategic goals, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and customer needs.
  • Drive the product strategy, ensuring the product remains competitive and innovative in the market.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the timeline of product releases.
  • Maintain a well-organized and prioritized backlog, ensuring the development team focuses on tasks that provide the most value.
  • Develop and refine comprehensive epic and user story requirements, including acceptance criteria.
  • Define sprint goals and priorities, aligning the development team with specific objectives and focusing on the most crucial features first.
  • Facilitate user story effort estimation to support predictable sprint planning and optimal resource allocation.
  • Validate that all completed features meet the predefined acceptance criteria and are ready for customer release.
  • Act as the main point of contact for product-related inquiries and represent the development team in stakeholder meetings.
  • Track and report on the progress, risks, and achievements of the development team using clear, measurable success metrics.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and user needs to propose features and improvements that drive market leadership.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of test plans to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to ensure the Product Roadmap is in sync with customer feedback and market research insights.
  • Collaborate with UX / UI designers and developers in creating the information architecture, serving as the logical flow and organization of information, critical to user satisfaction and engagement.

Ceremony Leadership

  • Feature Demos & Sprint Reviews : Gather and address stakeholder feedback on new features.
  • Release Planning : Create detailed plans for upcoming releases, focusing on scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Sprint Planning : Ensure the development team and stakeholders are aligned on the user stories to be completed, setting a clear direction for the upcoming sprint.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certified Advanced Agile Product Owner (CPO) Certification
  • 10+ years of experience as an Agile or Scrum Product Owner of a market-facing solution.
  • Proven track record of driving product vision, strategy, and innovation to achieve market leadership.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Extensive experience in backlog management tools like Jira.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or ten years of hands-on experience in an equivalent position in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Strong empathy for customers and a deep understanding of customer-centric design principles.
  • Ability to aggregate data from multiple sources to develop reports, recommendations, proposals, presentations, and other documents.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communications skills for internal and customer-facing audiences.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills; ability to engage in active and reflective listening.
  • Strong analytical skills; must be detail-oriented.
  • Skill in leading people and getting results with a strong customer orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Productivity Suite.
  • Enjoys working closely with customers to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • A self-starter who takes the initiative to get things done.
  • Travel is limited but possible.
