WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
As the Purchasing Specialist you will be responsible for
assisting the Supply Chain team with purchasing analysis and planning. You will be responsible for planning,
managing inventory, assisting the facility supervisors with product related priorities along with daily
administrative tasks. You will be able to identify the products that are to be purchased, confirming all
aspects of pricing, deliveries and maintaining our inventory control database.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIB ILITIES
Determine Purchase Orders based on sales forecast and stock
levels.
Forward purchase orders to suppliers with specific
requirements.
Maintain all online procurement modules along with product
analysis.
Monitor shipments to ensure that product arrives on time and
follow-up on undelivered product.
- Liaise with Warehouse on scheduled deliveries.
- Communicate with suppliers and transportation service
providers.
Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure
timely, accurate and complete paper flow, material shipping and receiving, job
completion and payables and receivables processing.
Respond to general inquiries and inform salespeople of
delays and / or problems; manage Out-of-stock and risk management.
Monitor inventory levels as products are issued, transferred
between warehouse facilities or sold to the public using manual or computerized
inventory systems.
Compile inventory reports, record the quantity, type and
value of products on hand, using manual or computerized inventory systems.
Assist Supply Chain management to achieve customer order
fill rate targets and minimize risk of short code product.
- Provide general operations support.
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- At least 1-2 years of related experience.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and
verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with other departments and with
external suppliers.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and
analytical skills.
Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible work style,
with a successful track record of supporting operations leaders across a large
geographically decentralized portfolio.
