LEGAL ASSISTANT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (Immigration Practice Group) - Rochester, NY
Harter Secrest & Emery LLP is seeking a Legal Assistant to join the Immigration practice group in its Rochester office. This position will be part of a dynamic team that provides support to attorneys and paralegals in the Immigration group.
Job Responsibilities :
Assembles documents, prepares correspondence and organizes supplemental materials for attorney review; enters data into immigration forms / applications as directed;
uses specialized software (LawLogix)
- Interfaces with clients through various forms of communication; responds to client inquiries when appropriate
- Performs general administrative tasks including entering time, opening new client matters, assisting with client billing, and significant calendar management
- Maintains practice group docket; tracks filing requirements
Education and Experience Requirements :
- Five years legal administrative assistant experience, Associate's degree (administrative studies, business or related field), or equivalent, desirable
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of clients and staff; proven ability to provide exceptional client service
- Strong organizational skills; ability to respond to multiple priorities and plan work to meet varying deadlines
- Knowledge of Immigration practice area including procedures, forms, and terminology a plus
- Good writing skills, including proper spelling and correct grammar; accuracy; attention to details and figures
- Ability to proofread and check typed material for grammatical, spelling, word usage and format errors
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Recruiting Information :
- Competitive salary dependent on education and relevance of prior work experience
- Salary Range : $25 - $29 per hour
