Participates in training non-laboratory associates to ensure that staff are familiar with the analytical procedures, maintenance and troubleshooting of POCT equipment.
Assist with the distribution of proficiency materials and the collection of data required by regulatory agencies. Assists with inventory management and dispatch of consumables for POCT.
Performs general office duties associated with POCT activities. Participates when called upon, in JCAHO and NYSDOH surveys.
Works with new hires and students as required.Responsibilities : EDUCATIONB.S. degree in Medical Technology or related discipline requiredMust have valid NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist Limited Permit or full NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license reflected within the NYS office Of Professions prior to startingEXPERIENCEDemonstrated ability to establish work load priorities and handle several tasks for maximum work efficiencyPreferred one (1) year experience with training associates, expediting and implementation of new procedures and evaluating quality control / assurance protocolsPreferred knowledge of waived testing requirements and regulationsClinical rotation from an accredited school, in a hospital settingSix (6) years clinical laboratory work experience if acting as a Charge TechnologistKNOWLEDGE,SKILL AND ABILITYAble to work safely with infectious and / or hazardous materialsExcellent oral and written communication skillsCustomer focusedDetail oriented and quality drivenPromote positive interdepartmental relationsWORKING CONDITIONSNormal heat, light space, and safe working environmentAbility to work in stressful situations is requiredSchedule flexibility is requiredSome local travel may be requiredEmployees must have a valid NYS driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for travelREQNUMBER : 31043
