Job Description
The Athletic Trainer I is responsible for the prevention, assessment, immediate management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and conditions.
The AT provides quality healthcare services to assigned schools and / or coverage sites. This position is responsible for being engaged within the schools, sites, and communities, acting as an ambassador for Baptist Health Care, Andrews Institute, and the Sports Medicine department, facilitating access and availability for all health care services.
This position plays an integral role in educating appropriate personnel (i.e., coaches, athletic directors, administrators, officials, etc.
on emergency preparedness, injury prevention, and best practices for the health, care, and well-being of student-athletes, spectators, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of operations of Sports Medicine Outreach Program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology in reference to Sports Medicine Outreach Program.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and guidelines.
- Care and prevention of athletic injuries.
- Knowledge of operations of physician networking and referral management.
- Comfort in evaluation skills and setting up plan of care.
- Problem solving and decision capabilities.
Qualifications
Degree - Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Other related field Required or Master's Degree Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Other related field Required
Licenses / Certifications - Athletic Trainer Licensed, State of Florida and Alabama (if working in Alabama), Upon Hire Required and Certified Athletic Trainer (AT BOC) Upon Hire Required and BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
