We are seeking an Individual Supports Coordinator (Resident Support Specialist) to join our Stabilization and Crisis Unit (SACU) team of dedicated and compassionate individuals.

This is the schedule we are filling in Eugene .

Monday - Friday, flexible hours with some flexibility needed to meet the needs of the home which can include working any shift and weekends / holidays as needed.

What you need to qualify

Eighteen months of experience providing direct individual care, vocational support, and / or related human services training (e.

g., working with Individual Support Plans, providing support to adults and / or children with intellectual / developmental disabilities or substance abuse).

One year of experience as a Direct Support Crisis Specialist or similar classification for the State of Oregon.

An associate degree in a related human services field.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Essential attributes

Experience collaborating with others to come to a mutually agreed upon outcome.

Experience reviewing and analyzing data and making recommendations based on the available information.

Experience training others.

Experience with software for documenting, reporting, and communicating (e.g., THERAP, Internet, Microsoft Office applications, etc.).

Demonstrated organizational / time management skills.

Experience communicating clearly and cross culturally in writing, directly, or virtually.

Preferred attributes

These attributes are a plus; but are not required.

Experience organizing, scheduling, and participating in recreational, leisure, and / or educational activities and / or outings in the community.

Experience with person centered planning or trauma informed care.

Experience advocating on behalf of supported individuals.

Your duties at a glance

The (SACU) operates 20 residential group homes along the I-5 corridor from Portland to Eugene and provides 24-hour residential care and supervision to individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities, often with co-occurring mental health diagnoses, whose support needs exceed the supports offered or provided by other community-based residential programs.

We provide training and support for the purpose of assisting individuals in safely transitioning back to their home community.

We model positive attitudes while offering health and medical supports, psychological services, emotional and behavioral support, life skills training, educational supports, recreational opportunities, and community integration.

We are dedicated to providing the support necessary to maintain the quality of life, achieve the highest possible level of independence and promote social opportunities, which benefit the individuals and the community.

As an Individual Supports Coordinator, you will :

Provide a path to increased independence for individuals in activities, hygiene, nutrition, housekeeping, behavioral management, safety, health care and other duties both within the home and the community.

Assist to maintain the home / property in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.

Perform financial planning for each individual, entering receipts, reconciling expenditures, and shopping and planning for individuals birthdays and holidays.

Establish and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships with all contacts.

Contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work environment for clients and staff.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Working conditions

You must have a valid license to drive, and you must have and maintain an acceptable driving record to transport individuals by state van or car.

You will work in a home environment, which is staffed 24 hours / day, seven days / week.

You must be able to work occasional overtime to ensure adequate staffing requirements.

You will work with individuals who experience an intellectual and / or developmental disability (I / DD) and co-occurring mental health disorders.

You will be exposed to individuals who are justice-involved or committed, and / or individuals who may often experience crisis that may be communicated in significant emotional or physical behaviors towards themselves or others.

You will be exposed to a variety of work settings in the home, public schools, and community.

You must be able to engage and maintain Oregon Invention System (OIS) approved restraints for one (1) hour or less.
