The Atrium Health Navicent Medical Group is searching for a Department of Family Medicine Chairperson to join our faculty and lead the program.

The Chairperson is responsible for leading the Family Medicine Residency and Geriatric Medicine Fellowship through detailed oversight of the training programs and institutional requirements, maintaining an environment of scholarly inquiry, professionalism and diversity, and facilitating the resident and fellow learner’s development.

The department serves as the academic training center for 27 residents and 2 fellows, along with medical students and behavioral health interns, through our faculty appointments within the Mercer University School of Medicine.

Our faculty are responsible for the supervision of residents and fellows in the outpatient and inpatient settings in addition to didactic teaching, curriculum development, and maintaining an active outpatient clinical practice.

This program, which began in 1972, is ACGME accredited, has trained over 300 physicians, including a recent Surgeon General, and continues to grow in an underserved community that truly benefits from graduate medical education.

Requirements of Ideal Candidates :

• Previous experience as a professor in an academic faculty member (minimum of 5 years).
• Must be Board Certified.
• Active Georgia License or ability to obtain.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate a passion for teaching the next generation of physicians.
