Animal Cage Wash Technician

Mountain View, CA DIRECT HIRE $23-25 / hr

Join Kelly Science and Clinical as an Animal Cage Wash Technician and play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our laboratory animals.

The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 7 : 30am-4pm, paying $23-25 / hr with growth opportunity.

Responsibilities :

Operate mechanical cage wash equipment and use supplies according to safety guidelines.

Clean and sanitize all animal caging and accessory equipment.

Dispose of all waste materials, including biohazard and hazardous waste, safely and thoroughly.

Maintain the cage washing area in a clean, neat, and well-organized manner.

Perform routine preventative maintenance on cage wash equipment.

Perform sanitation and cleaning throughout the facility, including animal rooms, support and service areas, storage rooms, and corridors.

Perform cage changing as necessary.

Assist with the receipt, stocking, labeling, and maintenance of feed, bedding, or other supplies.

Receive, inspect, and transfer animals to facility caging as needed.

Prepare and pack animals for shipping when needed.

Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor and / or management.

Qualifications :

Experience working with / around laboratory animals.

Experience performing housekeeping and sanitization duties.

Experience with the safe handling of chemicals and detergents.

Knowledge of the use and maintenance of laboratory facilities and / or equipment.

Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.

Ability to perform moderate physical activity, including handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds and standing / walking for more than four hours per day.

Availability to work holidays and weekends when required.
