Position Summary
Major responsibilities include teaching didactic material and facilitating integrative clinical experiences through case-based, individual, and group learning experiences.
In conjunction with the school’s mission, scholarly activity and service are also required. Salary and rank will commensurate with education and experience.
Required qualifications :
- An initially certified occupational therapist who is eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana and who holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency.
- A minimum of 3 years’ practice experience as an occupational therapist.
- Documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibilities.
- Ability to apply the concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in a variety of teaching delivery modes.
Preferred qualifications :
A doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency, i.
e. post-professional OTD, Ph.D., or Ed.D. The doctoral degree is not limited to a doctorate in occupational therapy.
- A well-qualified candidate will have a range of clinical expertise in one or more of the following areas : experience in pediatric settings, management, mental health, or community-based practice.
- Prior experience teaching at an entry-level occupational therapy doctorate (OTD) program.
- Experience as a fieldwork educator.
