Job Title : Mechanical Design Analyst
Location : Remote
Join our team as a Mechanical Design Analyst, where you'll be responsible for the analysis and design of spacecraft structures.
This remote role is perfect for those with a passion for aerospace engineering and a solid foundation in structural static / dynamic fundamentals.
Job Responsibilities :
- Conduct analysis of load path from concept to drawing release and hardware creation
- Analyze primary and secondary spacecraft structures
- Integrate structural analysis with loads and dynamic environments
- Develop, refine, validate, and correlate Finite Element Models to tests
- Generate strength checks and analysis reports
- Create test and verification plans and reports
Skills Required :
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering
- 4-5+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in static and dynamic structural problem-solving using physics-based analytical methods
- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle, or automotive in areas such as external loads, vibro-acoustic analysis, and thermal loads
- Proficiency in using analytical tools like Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, or Optistruct
- Ability to build trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive culture
Desired Skills :
- Experience in vehicle load path definition and strength analysis
- Knowledge of metallic and / or composite structures analysis
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowables development
- Experience with structural optimization using standard industry codes
- Proficiency with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater
- Experience with human spaceflight and composites
